Richard Pointer, owner of Berries Farm livery situated in Hevingham, Norfolk, provided an all inclusive fun day for all of his liveries.
Berries Farm has a diverse range of horse owners, ranging from BS/BE competitors, local show attendees and those who simply enjoy their equine friends. Richard and a few liveries organised a dressage competition open to all, including children on lead rein, gymkhamas and showjumping; bringing the whole yard together. The heartwarming atmosphere of people experiencing new challenges developed confidence for all of our liveries here at Berries Farm.
Dressage had an outstanding attendance; kindly judged by Michelle Lowe. The three children in the lead rein class beamed with smiles of achievement and revelled in their prizes of rosettes and items of Grooming kit kindly provided by Berries Farm . The open class saw an exceptional level of dressage ability and even included riders who had never ridden a dressage test before. Despite the dreary wet weather, everyone aimed to embrace the excitement as the gymkhanas were set to be the next barrel of fun. Riders, horses and ponies of all ages grew a sense of competiveness as 6 individual fun races commenced, again bringing joy and laughter to all involved.
The last event of showjumping gave everyone the opportunity to choose individual heights over the creative range of show jumps provided at the yard. To end the day of accomplishment, determination and fun, Richard put on a delicious spread of cooked meats, salad and cakes that were enjoyed whilst all ponies happily rested back in their fields.
Berries farm is a genuinely, supportive non-judgemental yard that encourages everyone to individually enjoy their precious equine companions. Already everyone is talking about and looking forward to next year’s event at Berries farm.
